Guidance and Supervision by: Hiroki Otsuka (First Generation)
Born in 1892. Started learning jujutsu from a young age. Entered Waseda University in 1910 and continued his martial arts training. Received the Menkyo Kaiden (license of full transmission) in Shindo Yoshin-ryu jujutsu in 1924 and succeeded as the 4th generation. Later researched karate introduced from Okinawa, integrating its strengths with jujutsu to establish Wado-Ryu.
Guidance and Supervision by: Hiroki Otsuka (Second Generation)
Born in 1934. Second generation head of Wado-Ryu and the highest instructor. Began learning karate from his father, the founder, at the age of 15. Dedicated to advancing karate, conducting teachings in numerous countries worldwide. Assumed the role of second generation head in 1981 and continues to contribute to the spread of Wado-Ryu.
