At the 2002 Campeonato, Mitsuyoshi Hayakawa achieved victory in the first-ever Japanese black belt showdown against the pioneer Yuuki Nakai. Hayakawa's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, rich with originality, is founded on the teachings of his mentor, Tadashi Hiraoka, who himself has extensive experience in various competitive disciplines. Hayakawa actively sought to integrate techniques from other sports, earning him the nickname "the toy box of techniques."
