As the Chief Instructor of Aikido Renshinkai, Chida Tsutomu leads the organization founded to pass on the profound martial art techniques developed under the late Aikido master Shioda Gozo, a great warrior born in the Showa era. Having spent the longest period as an uchi deshi (inner disciple) under Shioda Gozo, Chida Tsutomu meticulously demonstrates and explains everything from fundamental movements that must be mastered first, to all basic techniques in this inaugural DVD release of Aikido Renshinkai.

  • Born on October 4, 1950, in Tokyo. Entered Aikido Yoshinkan in June 1969. Became an uchi deshi in 1971 and trained together until the passing of Shioda Gozo in 1994, during which time he received the 8th dan from Shioda Gozo in 1993. Served as the Chief Instructor of Aikido Yoshinkan Headquarters Dojo from 1994 and as the Head Dojo Director from 2002. He is a prominent Aikido practitioner who deeply understands the techniques and spirit of Shioda Gozo. Founded Aikido Renshinkai in 2008, shedding light on the mystical mechanics of Aikido and striving to pass on this accessible martial art to future generations.
