Fumio Sakurai (Aikido SA Representative Master) Born in 1954, Sakurai entered Aikido Yoshinkan and apprenticed under the late Gozo Shioda, renowned as a master. Alongside teaching at the Yoshinkan Headquarters Dojo, he instructs at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department (riot police, special forces, VIP guards, etc.). He holds the sixth-degree Headquarters Master rank. After retiring from Yoshinkan, he founded Aikido SA in 1991 to systematize practical Aikido, drawing from his interactions with diverse martial artists and fighters, including K-1 Director Ishii Kazuyoshi and Shooto founder Sayama Satoru.
